Next, with the ghost kick highlighted in the mixer, right click the little arrow icon above the fx button in the mixer channel you want to sidechain (your synth or whatever) and select "sidechain to this channel (or track). This will mute the kick audio from being played through the master but the kick is still there producing the hit. Next, with that new kick selected in the mixer, turn down the incoming audio on the master channel by fully turning down the knob that appears over the fx button in the master channel. Start by cloning your kick and linking it to your mixer. This way you can use it whenever you need to (under both your kick and snare) instead of doing two seperate sidechains. The best way is to actually use a "ghost kick" that doesnt produce sound but still triggers the sidechain.
